Dream Compass, a Journey Toward Achieving Independence

Deep inside him there are ambitions and dreams that push him toward achievement and success. Ahmed Al-Wajeeh is a young man who lives in Sana'a. Ever since he was a little boy, he has always had a clear vision of the future and a strong desire to achieve personal success. After finishing high school, he could not pursue his college education due to his distressed circumstances. Therefore, supported by passion and determination, he decided to begin his professional journey after having had started to gain knowledge and skills in computer science and mine laying and clearing via some training courses he took. After that, he joined the branch of mine laying and clearing of the military and continued working there for two years. However, with the economic decline in the country and the interruption of salaries, he was forced to find himself another job.

Indeed, he found a job at one of the most famous stores that sell seasonings, and he kept on worked there for seven years. During that period, he earned great experience and discovered his abilities in this field. But he felt the pressure and the limitation of income when working for others. In fact, he had great ambitions of self-employment. Therefore, he decided to look for another opportunity to achieve his financial independence and match his ambitions. Ahmed says in this regard, "Working for others is no good. When one has his own business, even if it is small, he becomes satisfied with it. So, it is better to have your own business than to work for others."

Taking advantage of his personal resources and the experience he gained during working in the seasoning industry in past years, Ahmed decided to sell his motorcycle and his pistol and borrow some money to start his own business. He opened a small store for seasonings, medical herbs and oils. At first, things were going smoothly. But with the economic decline in the country, things started to become complicated at that time. Also, the health of Ahmed's father got worse, and the store needed liquidity very much in order to continue and develop. Despite that, Ahmed did not give up to all those difficulties. In fact, he used them as a motivation to continue working hard.

Ahmed neither gave up nor lost hope. He decided to find solutions to overcome those difficulties. He then went to one of his relatives and asked him to lend him money. He explained to him the conditions in his failing business and what he needed to save it. His relative advised him to apply for the financing services that Al-Kuraimi Bank provides to finance small and stalled projects. Ahmed did not hesitate to follow his relative's advice and decided to go to Al-Kuraimi Bank. He then applied for the loan he was looking for and submitted all the necessary documents and related details. With the loan he got, Ahmed could save his business and make his dreams come true. He bought new goods and his sales and profits went up as time went by. He, therefore, could have an independent income source to himself and his family. His living conditions improved as a result. In this regard he says, "I felt good after my business had got better. I paid the store's accumulated rent, I bought a car to load goods, and I could finish building my house." He also could pay for his father's medical treatment and pay for his children's education. In this regard he asserts, "I enrolled my kids in a private school to ensure that they receive good education so that they have a better future." Ahmed could turn his small business into a successful and an independent income source through persistence and faith.

Ahmed did not stop at one loan. He applied for another since his experience with the first loan was successful. Ahmed describes the loan by saying, "The loan saved my life and opened up new doors for me. I'm planning to develop my business in the future by bringing new goods to my sale list." Ahmed is planning to expand his business by opening another store for selling chickens and vegetables. He also advised the ambitious youth to seek funding services to start their own businesses.

This journey teaches us that no matter how big the difficulties we face in life are, with hard work and persistence, we can do the impossible. It also encourages us to pursue our dreams and work hard to realize them, and believe in our inner power and our ability to change the world around us.
